To all our guests who got to know our cat Gigi during their stay.
It is with heavy hearts that we mourn the passing of our beloved Gigi.
Gigi loved people and would spend hours on the decks of our Ranch House and Ranch View cottages "talking" with guests.
Many who stayed here felt they had a special treat of having their own cat while on vacation with us.
Gigi came to be known as the "vacation kitty".
Children especially loved her and often asked if they could take her home.
Our guest book has many comments about Gigi and drawings of her both by children and by adults.
Often we would get asked how Gigi was by guests re-booking.
We want to thank our friend and guest and house-sitter, Sherrill Futrell, for all the love she gave (and got from) Gigi.
She is sorely missed by all of us. She is an icon of Silver Oaks Ranch and can never be replaced.

New Kids on the Block

We were fortunate enough to rescue a female who had 3 kittens. So we put them in our bathroom with the intent to take them to the humane society. You can guess what happened after a week or two. So we have three young cats - a boy named Sam aka Pretty Boy who snuggles with Amy EVERY night! A girl named Pixie as she reminds me of the Pixies for a TV series - aka Wild Girl. Another girl named Charlene (Charley) who has beautiful colors and we call "Charley" AKA Dollhouse Kitty!! With these three and our older house cat named Loungie Lizard whose girlfriend is Charley, we never have a dull moment and our life is a little fuller, especially since our daughter Jennifer has left the nest.
