Kaloko-Honokohau National Historic Park
is only 15 minutes from the Ranch. This area was the site of pre-European Hawaiian settlements and includes three large fish ponds. It is a scenic and peaceful hike along the coast with a palm tree parking area adjacent to the north-most pond. The walk south towards the Harbor (Honokohau) is flat and graded. Tide pools dot the coast. The area offshore includes popular boat-diving and surfing spots. The views are panoramic, wonderful and unspoiled, and the waves are dramatic. The walk affords excellent views of Hualalai peak at 8400 ft.
